5 months!!

I have been so bad at updating this. So forgive me if this one is really long. A lot has happened since I last updated everyone. So lets see... where to start. I'll start with Halloween. For Halloween Alayna was Tinkerbell, I was also a fairy and Ron was Jack from nightmare before Christmas. We went to our ward trunk-or-treat that was super fun. Brother Haddock was there taking pictures of everyone here is one that he took.

I think it turned out quite good :) If only Alayna would smile. Here are some that we took at my parents house on Halloween.

Alayna and her cousin Sam wore the same outfit for Halloween :) Alayna was very tired she went to sleep right after the pictures.

Halloween was alot of fun. Alayna slept through most of it. It was like her outfit just put her right to sleep??

Moving on to November. Alayna started smiling!! We took a ton of pictures bc Alayna just loves smiling. Here are some good ones.

November was alot of fun. She learned so much more and her little personality grew into a Big personality.

On to December..

December was again a lot of fun. Alayna got her 4 months shots, and she weighed it at 16 lbs 2 oz and was 25 3/4 inches long. The dr said that if he had 100 baby girls in there she would be the biggest out of all of them. She's going to be a very tall girl. We are already having to put her in 9 month pants because her legs are so long :). Here are some pictures taken before Christmas.

She LOVES Jet our dog. She is so facinated with him. Im alittle worried for him when she starts moving around more. She already kicks and grabs him.

She loves playing in her floor gym. And being on her belly. She is a pro roller, well from back to front. You put her on her back and she rolls right over.

I also had the opportunity to do a Trash the dress photo shoot. I saw this add on the side of facebook. I know the first thing you think is thats kinda creepy, but don't worry it was legit. It said free trash the dress photo shoot. They had professional makeup and hair stylists do our makeup and hair Marie Antoinette style. So I had a little beauty mark, and really big hair. Then they added accesories. I was in my dress so I was super comfortable and still was modest. Here are some of the photos from the shoot.

They had 3 little sets that we each rotated through. Their were 3 models. One was a couch, then a chair and the last one was a table with a wedding cake and deserts on it. About 40 photographers came out to shoot us, it was like paparazzi. After we had all gone through the sets we had a little cake fight. The cake tasted so good!!

Oh one more thing about the photo shoot. It was FREZZING!!!!! Im pretty sure if we would have stayed out there much longer i would have lost my toes from frost bite.

We had a great christmas with our families. We went and saw santa at Bass Pro shops. I think he was the bast santa I have ever seen, and we only had to wait like 10 min.

On christmas day we spent the morning with Ron's parents at their house. Of course Alayna didn't want to sleep so she was up all morning.

We then went to Church at 1 and after church we went to my parents house for dinner and a nativity skit put on by the grand kids. Next year we will have more kids to play more parts!!

1st month

Well the first month of being parents has gone pretty well. There have been mostly Ups but some Down times to. Alayna sleeps good during the night but doesn't like to sleep during the day. We have had 2 bad nights where she decideds not to go to sleep after her 3am feeding, so I (sarah) just get up and take her in the family room to watch tv. Ron has to go to work so we don't want to keep him up. At her 1 week check up she weighed in at 8 pounds 11 ounces. She was down a couple pounds from her birth weight. But don't worry at her 2 week checkup she weighed in at 9 pounds 7 ounces and was 21.5 inches long. My milk had come in so that obviously helped. Today we went for her 1 month wellness check. She now weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces and is 23 inches long. She's getting so big, and time is going by so fast.

She went to church for the first time last sunday 9-11-2011. She did so good. She slept in her car seat the entire time. Here is a picture of her first day going to church.

This past weekend was my birthday so we were able to take a trip up to my sisters cabin in Panquitch Lake. It was Alayna's first trip. She did great in the car, slept the entire time.

We are blessing her in church on sunday 9-25-11, so I will post pictures after that.

Our New Little Addition

So as you know I was pregnant and just waiting for the day our new little girl would come. Well I made it all the way to 40 weeks and was begging my doctor to induce me. I went to my 40 week check up and practically got down on my knees and begged him to schedule an induction. He set it up for the following Tuesday night 8/16/11.

I was to report to the hospital at 9pm to start this drug called Cervidil. Now the reason my doctor was hesitant to inducing me was because I was only dilated 1 cm for 3 weeks. So he decided to start me on Cervidil which would have to stay in 12 hours before they could start the patocin. YAY!! We were in for a long night.
We showed up to the hospital at 9pm only for them to send us home because they had no beds open. They told me they would call when they had an open bed. So we went home and I went to bed. Mean while Ron was to anxious to go to bed so he stayed up. He finally decided to come to bed, and right as he got in the bed they called and said come down at midnight. She said they had an open room at 11 pm but they would have to charge me for the entire day even though I would only be there and hour that day. So we waited until 12:01am to check in. She hooked me up to the machines and it turns out that I had been having contractions for the last week or so. The nurse went over everything got me ready but before she could start me on the Cervidil we had to get little baby Alayna to move some more. So she made me drink soda yuk and she put me on an IV, and man she pumped that thing into me. This lasted about 45 min and by 2:45 she started the Cervidil. The only thing we were thinking was "Great now I have to wait until 2:45 pm to start patocin. This is going to be a long day."
We tried getting some sleep, but anyone that has been in a delivery room knows that you can't really sleep for a couple reasons that I have listed below...
1. The stupid machine beeps like non stop
2. The beds suck (especially when you are tall)
3. The nurse is constantly checking on you
4. They are pumping fluid into you so you have to pee every 30 min.
So neither of us got any sleep that night.

The sun came up and my mom came to be with us. Well at 10am I started having pretty bad contractions. They were 45 seconds long and about 1 min apart, but they weren't consistent. So the nurses called the doctor and he said to give me some lortab. The meds didn't help so the doctor said to take the Cervidil out and give me and epidural. YAY!! I got the epidural at noon and Dr. Juarez came in and broke my water. Now we just wait and see what happens. Doc said hopefully the epidural will help me relax so I could dilate more bc I was still only at 2 cm. The nurse came in every 2 hours from then on and each time I had dilated 2 more cm which was enough to keep me from having a C section (thank goodness!) By 8pm I was fully dialated and the nurse had me start pushing. The only problem was that I couldn't feel anything so how was I to push??
Oh haha let me back track... The Epidural Rocked!! I couldn't feel anything and I didn't even push the button to get more the entire time. Well I kept sliding down almost off the bed bc I couldn't use my butt muscles to keep me up so Ron and the nurse would scoot me back up the bed. One time they were moving me back up the bed my leg fell off the bed and the nurse says "Oops let me get that for you" HAHA I looked and my leg was on the ground. I didn't even know it had happened. Ok so back to pushing... the nurse told me not to push the button because I needed to be able to feel something. So I didn't bc by this point I just wanted this over with. Well 9:30 rolled around the nurse came in and said we are going to start pushing and the doctor will be here at 10. 10pm came and the doctor noticed babies head was not in the right position so he got the forceps I pushed 1 time and he pulled her out. I don't want to make it sound like I only pushed 1 time bc I had been pushing since 9:30 I just pushed once while the doctor was there. Kinda nice, and I didn't feel a thing. :) So baby Alyana was born at 10:35 pm on 8/17/11. She was 8 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches long. We were able to go home Thursday night.
There are a couple more details that I didn't touch on, like having to give my baby to someone bc I was going to throw up. That was right after they put her in my arms clean for the first time :( Passing out 2 times the next morning bc of the amount of blood I lost and bc I hadn't eaten any food in 28 hours, that wasn't fun. I think that's about it. It was a fun adventure. All for this little beauty!!
